“Money raised in Huntington Stays in Huntington”

 

As the newly installed President of the Townwide Fund of Huntington, Inc., I am proud of the accomplishments of the fund, look forward to building on our prior successes and pursuing the new avenues of growth. The mission of the Townwide Fund of Huntington is to provide necessary funding for its 20 member agencies so that they can better provide vital health and human services within the Town of Huntington.

 

We have four fantastic events: The St. Pat’s Run is on Saturday, March 19, 2011, followed by our annual golf outing, scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 2011, our Theatre Event at the Engeman Theatre on Thursday, November 17, 2011 and Thanksgiving Day Run on Thursday, November 24, 2011.

 

Besides these great events, this year, we aim to foster new partnerships with the Chambers Of Commerce and members of those chambers throughout the Township of Huntington.

 

We are also pursuing our Payroll Deduction Campaign. This campaign permits employees to donate as much or as little of their paycheck to the Townwide Fund of Huntington. Any donation amount per paycheck will go so far in furthering our mission. We need employers and their employees to sign on.

 

We are also expanding our Coin Box Deduction Program. We are asking businesses in the Town of Huntington that have high volume cash traffic to permit us to place a coin box at their location. Every coin box raises public awareness of the Townwide Fund in addition to collecting much-needed donations for our member agencies. Our coin box program is one small way to make one big difference! If we generate as little as $11 per month per coin box, we could raise over $30,000 for the charities that we support. We need everyone’s support.

 

Finally, in addition to increasing our presence at the Fall Festival and other local events, we want to be a resource for business helping business within the Town of Huntington, the entire town. We are introducing Monthly Networking Evenings. They will be held on the third Tuesday of every month. Easy to remember: “Third Tuesday Townwide Fund.” We expect these events to facilitate business among and between members of the various chambers within the entire Township of Huntington – and it’s good for the establishments where we will hold the events.  Please follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Townwidefundhuntington) and at our website (www.townwidefund.org) for announcements of locations. We hope to foster an environment of fellowship and support where business and the not-for-profits help each other for the greater good of those located right here in our Town – Huntington.
