Welcome to the Townwide Fund of Huntington’s website. If you’re a new visitor or a seasoned contributor to the Fund’s rich history, our new and improved website has much to offer in terms of discovering who we are and speak to all the wonderful ways your contributions have assisted the neediest citizens of our great Town. The Fund has been assisting our beloved community for 5 decades and through our 40+ volunteer board members, we strive to support all the community’s member agencies by providing Huntington with “Vital Human & Health Services.” We’ve accomplished this by living to one creed, “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
The Townwide Fund has survived as one of only a couple of Community Chests left on Long Island. Through inflation, recessions, changes in the non-profit landscape and through the loss of revenue via the United Way, the Townwide Fund has endured, prospered and is at the brink of becoming the model non-profit on Long Island. By continuing to cultivate new revenue streams, by reaching out to each and every member of the community and by streamlining expenses, The Townwide Fund shall endure for another 50 years and beyond. The Town and its people need us and we are here to meet that challenge; for them and their children’s children.
I thank you all for taking the time to research who we are. As a long standing 501 (3c), we adhere to all non-profits standards and best practices. Throughout the year we have four fantastic events: The St. Pat’s Run in March, followed by our annual golf outing in May, our Bowling Event in October, the Theatre Event at the Engeman Theatre and our Thanksgiving Day Run on Thanksgiving Day. This year we have the special event to rival all special events, our 50th Anniversary celebration. This ‘red tie’ event will be held at Oheka castle and promises to be the ‘talk of the town.’
On an annual basis we continue to seek Corporate Sponsorships including our Payroll Deduction Campaign. This campaign permits employees to donate as much or as little as $1 of their paycheck to the Townwide Fund of Huntington. We are also expanding our Coin Box Deduction Program. We are asking businesses in the Town of Huntington that have high volume cash traffic to permit us to place a coin box at their location. Every coin box raises public awareness of the Townwide Fund in addition to collecting much-needed donations for our member agencies.
Finally, in addition to increasing our presence at the Huntington Fall Festival and other local events, we want to be a resource for businesses helping businesses within the Town of Huntington, the entire town. We hold Monthly Networking Evenings. They are held on the third Tuesday of every month. Easy to remember: “Third Tuesday Townwide Fund.” These events facilitate business among and between members of the various chambers within the entire Township of Huntington – and it’s good for the establishments where we will hold the events. We hope to foster an environment of fellowship and support where business and the not-for-profits help each other for the greater good of those located right here in our Town, Huntington.
